NEW DELHI: As Indian enterprises accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence to transform customer experiences and business operations, software company Liferay is strengthening its security-first digital experience strategy with the expansion of Liferay AI Hub, a platform designed to help organizations deploy AI within existing governance, security, and compliance frameworks.

The company said enterprises across banking, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications and the public sector are increasingly adopting AI to improve productivity and customer engagement. However, concerns over data security, regulatory compliance, governance and oversight continue to slow enterprise-wide implementation.

Liferay said its AI Hub allows organizations to build, deploy and manage AI agents while leveraging existing access controls and governance policies, enabling businesses to expand AI initiatives without redesigning established security systems.

“The biggest challenge for enterprise AI is not access to models; it’s deploying them responsibly,” said Manish Gupta, director of Liferay India. “Organizations have invested years in establishing governance, security and compliance frameworks. With Liferay AI Hub, they can extend those same controls to AI, enabling innovation without compromising trust.”

Built on the company’s Digital Experience Platform security framework, the AI Hub enables AI agents to inherit existing user permissions, ensuring they can access only information authorized for authenticated users. The platform also provides auditable records of AI interactions to support accountability and regulatory compliance.

Liferay said the platform integrates with multiple AI models and enterprise applications, allowing organizations to avoid vendor lock-in while adapting AI strategies to changing business requirements.

The company added that its low-code environment enables IT teams to rapidly configure and deploy AI agents for applications including content creation, customer support, compliance management and enterprise knowledge services.

Liferay said the initiative is intended to help Indian enterprises move beyond pilot projects and scale AI adoption while maintaining security, governance, and operational control.
