NEW DELHI: India and Germany reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral trade and investment at the IGCC Industry Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi, with a strong focus on clean energy, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, and digital technologies.

Organized by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, the summit brought together senior government officials, diplomats, and industry leaders to strengthen industrial collaboration and translate policy priorities into business partnerships.

German Ambassador to India and Bhutan Dr. Philipp Ackermann said the two countries are redefining bilateral cooperation in an increasingly competitive global economy, while highlighting 75 years of diplomatic relations.

The summit marked the launch of the Green Hydrogen Directory 2026, connecting German companies with Indian partners across the clean hydrogen value chain. Participants also stressed the importance of the proposed EU-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in providing long-term market certainty and boosting bilateral commerce.

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia urged German companies to expand investments in pharmaceuticals, railways and chemical engineering while strengthening resilient supply chains.

Industry leaders from Bosch, SAP and Infineon discussed opportunities in Global Capability Centres (GCCs), semiconductor design, and artificial intelligence, underscoring the growing scope for technology-led collaboration between the two countries.

IGCC Director General Jan Noether said the chamber remains committed to creating platforms that convert shared ambitions into long-term industrial partnerships amid evolving global supply chains.
