DEHRADUN: REC Limited, a major power sector finance company, has provided ₹6.01 crore through its corporate social responsibility arm to fund five Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) to bolster healthcare access in Uttarakhand, particularly for women.

The “Doctor Aapke Dwaar” initiative was launched by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, along with Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat and other state health officials.

The MMUs, operated in partnership with CSC Academy, will serve Haridwar (two units), Udham Singh Nagar (two units), and Tehri Garhwal (one unit), focusing on remote populations. Equipped for primary care, the units will operate six days a week, offering free services.

Notably, one MMU will be exclusively for women, staffed by female medical professionals to cater to their specific health needs in underserved areas.

The MMUs will coordinate with the state’s health department and Chief Medical Officers. This project aligns with the state’s vision of a healthy and prosperous Uttarakhand and is part of REC Foundation’s broader ‘Doctor Aapke Dwaar’ program active in other states.

REC Limited emphasized its commitment to improving rural healthcare through impactful CSR initiatives.
