Gurugram: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, officially handed over the Lakadia B Power Transmission Limited Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on February 14, 2025, in Gurugram.

RIL emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) for the project through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL. The project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis.

Shri T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, transferred the SPV to Shri N. Vaidyanathan, Senior Vice President of Reliance Industries Limited, in a ceremony attended by senior officials from RECPDCL, Reliance Industries, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.

The project, with an estimated cost of Rs. 512.58 crore, aims to enhance transformation capacity at the Lakadia Pooling Station in Gujarat to facilitate the evacuation of power from renewable energy generators. The implementation period is set at 24 months.
