REC wins prestigious Golden Peacock Award 2024

Gurugram: REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power and a leading Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), has been awarded the prestigious Golden Peacock Award 2024 for Excellence in Corporate Governance. The recognition was conferred by the Golden Peacock Awards Secretariat and the Institute of Directors during a ceremony held in London.

This award highlights REC’s steadfast dedication to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance. The accolade acknowledges the company’s emphasis on transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices, which have been key to its enduring success and esteemed reputation in the industry. REC received the award in the Power (Financial Services) category.

Expressing his gratitude, Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of REC, stated, “We are deeply honoured to receive the Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance. This accolade reflects our continuous efforts to uphold the principles of good governance and our commitment to creating long-term value for our stakeholders.”

The award decision was made by a distinguished jury chaired by Hon’ble Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, the 25th Chief Justice of India. Other notable members of the jury included Justice U. U. Lalit, former Chief Justice of India, and Prof. (Judge) Mervyn E. King SC.

The ceremony was attended by prominent leaders from various industries, underscoring the importance of corporate governance in fostering sustainable business practices. REC’s recognition as an awardee further cements its leadership role in the power sector and sets a benchmark for excellence in corporate governance.
