New Delhi, June 20, 2025 — REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) and a leading non-banking financial company (NBFC) under the Ministry of Power, has been awarded the Rajbhasha Deepti Shield Award for its exemplary work in promoting the Official Language Hindi during the year 2023–24.

The award was presented during the Hindi Advisory Committee meeting of the Ministry of Power in New Delhi. REC CMD Shri Jitendra Srivastava and Executive Director (Official Language) Shri R.P. Vaishnaw received the award from Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal.

The Rajbhasha Deepti Award recognizes REC’s commitment to effectively implementing the Government of India’s Official Language Policy across all its offices and subsidiaries.

On the occasion, Minister of State for Power Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Power Secretary Shri Pankaj Agarwal, senior officials, members of the Hindi Advisory Committee, and representatives of various undertakings under the Ministry of Power were also present.

As part of the ceremony, the  Minister also released REC’s official Hindi magazine “Urjaayan”, showcasing initiatives and updates from across the organization.
