Guwahati: REC Foundation, the CSR arm of REC Ltd., has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Kaziranga Tiger Conservation Foundation to support sustainability measures in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.

As part of the agreement, REC Foundation will extend a corporate social responsibility grant of ₹5.43 crore for the installation of solar power plants and reverse osmosis drinking water systems across anti-poaching camps in the park.

The initiative aims to provide clean energy and safe drinking water to forest personnel while reducing reliance on diesel generators and single-use plastic bottles, ultimately lowering the park’s carbon footprint.

The agreement was signed by Sonali Ghosh, IFS, field director of Kaziranga National Park and chairperson of the conservation foundation, and Pradeep Fellows, executive director of REC Foundation. REC Chairman and Managing Director Jitendra Srivastava was also present during the signing.
