Gurugram: This Christmas, India’s first and one-of-its-kind social media platform Welike with millions of downloads, has joined hands with CRY – Child Rights and You to support child education in the country.

Thousands of people both online and offline are participating in the innovative “Zara HAT Ke” campaign designed by Welike to make Christmas celebrations special for underprivileged children.

Participants are asked to download the Welike app and post anything and everything they like with the hashtag #Zara HAT Ke. For every such post, Welike has committed to contribute Rs 5 to the education of underprivileged children in collaboration with CRY – Child Rights and You.

The campaign will run till December 28. The money will be donated to schools for underprivileged children in Delhi-NCR which are struggling with shortage of resources.

Said Siddharth Venkataraman, Vice President, Welike India: “Our vision was to make this Christmas celebration more special for the underprivileged children. We thought why not Santa gift them something that will always shine like a smile in their heart? So we decided on the gift of education. We expect lakhs of engagements both offline and online through this campaign, each of will generate money for this noble cause.”

Said Soha Moitra, Regional Director, CRY (North): “We are happy to be associated with Welike which has come on-board to be a part of this great initiative that will contribute to children’s education, and ensure that they grow to their full potential to make our nation proud. This partnership is a meaningful gesture to make a lasting change in the lives of underprivileged children.”

To support the campaign, the entire team of Welike hosted a special activity offline in their office complex where hundreds of people were invited to play the games next to a huge Santa. Hundreds of participants from all walk of life shared these fun moments on Welike and made new friends both online and offline.

Each of these engagements triggered a donation from Welike for the noble cause of education for the underprivileged children. The event was livestreamed on Instagram.

Welike, a made-in-India app, allows users to interact and discover each other based on interests and likes. It believes in sharing India’s talent and gives youth a chance to share their own homemade content like photos, videos and articles.

Welike has become one of the top trending apps in India within a very short time. Users can interact with like-minded souls who can together discover the latest updates and interact with each other. It allows the youth a chance to share their own homemade content like photos, videos, and articles and runs some fun contests to reward the users.
