NEW DELHI: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, has handed over two project-specific special purpose vehicles (SPVs) of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) projects to M/s Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and M/s Shivalaya Construction Limited.
On October 17, RECPDCL handed over SR WR Power Transmission Limited to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, which emerged as the successful bidder under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process for developing the project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
The SPV was transferred by Saurabh Rastogi, CEO of RECPDCL, to Satyaprakash Dash, Company Secretary of Power Grid, in the presence of officials from RECPDCL, Power Grid, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited. The 24-month project includes the establishment of a 765 kV double-circuit transmission line from Parli New (Maharashtra) to Bidar (Karnataka) spanning approximately 109 km.
On the same day, RECPDCL also handed over Ananthapuram II Power Transmission Limited to Shivalaya Construction Limited, which secured the project through the same TBCB route. The SPV was handed over by Rastogi to Rajesh Kumar Singh, Head (Power & Transmission), Shivalaya Construction Limited.
The 30-month scheme includes establishing a 765/400 kV CN’ Halli substation in Karnataka, a 765 kV double-circuit line of approximately 181 km from Ananthapuram-II (Andhra Pradesh) to CN’ Halli, and augmentation of the Ananthapuram-II pooling station with associated works.
Both projects are part of India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-state power transmission infrastructure and ensure reliable electricity transfer across regions.
