New Delhi: The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) celebrated its 42nd Foundation Day on Monday, underscoring its role in advancing India’s telecom research and digital security.
Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani called telecom “key for national security,” telling engineers they are “not only technologists but also guardians of India’s digital borders.” He urged C-DOT to emerge as a global leader in trusted telecom solutions by 2047.
Experts at the event highlighted progress in 6G, AI, cybersecurity, and quantum communication. C-DOT showcased its delivery of a 4G core for BSNL and AI tools that helped disconnect 50 million fraudulent connections.
Under the NIDHI program, 10 women-led startups were awarded grants for R&D in ICT. Officials said the initiative reflects C-DOT’s push for Atmanirbhar Bharat and support for indigenous innovation.
