Gurugram: REC Limited, a leading Maharatna company under the Ministry of Power, has stepped up to improve cancer treatment facilities in Uttar Pradesh. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, REC has committed ₹14 crore to fund a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machine for the Trauma Centre run by Sevarth Sansthan Seth Bimal Kumar Jain Trauma & Physiotherapy Dharmarth Samiti (SSB) in Firozabad.

The agreement was signed today by Shri Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director of CSR at REC, and Shri P. K. Jindal, President of SSB. Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Chairman and Managing Director of REC Limited, was also present at the ceremony.

A Game-Changer for Cancer Treatment
The Linear Accelerator, or LINAC, is a highly advanced machine used to treat various types of cancer, including those affecting the brain, spine, breast, lungs, and liver. This technology allows doctors to target cancer cells with precision, improving outcomes and minimizing damage to surrounding tissues. The new equipment is expected to provide a significant boost to cancer care in the region.

Commitment to Health and Well-being
This initiative reflects REC’s broader CSR focus on promoting health and improving the quality of life in communities. REC Foundation has already supported more than 400 projects in healthcare, sanitation, education, and environmental sustainability. Over ₹2,000 crore has been dedicated to CSR efforts, making a meaningful difference in the lives of millions across India.

Hope for a Healthier Future
With the addition of this advanced cancer treatment technology, the Trauma Centre in Firozabad is set to become a beacon of hope for patients and families in Uttar Pradesh and beyond. REC’s contribution reaffirms its dedication to empowering communities and building a healthier future for all.
