NEW DELHI — REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) transferred two project-specific Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to winning bidders on Wednesday, advancing major inter-state transmission infrastructure projects valued at a combined ₹3,321 crore.
Through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, RECPDCL handed Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and Shongtong Power Transmission Limited to Terralight Solar Energy Tinwari Private Limited. Both projects will operate under a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer model.
The Bhadla Ramgarh initiative entails augmenting pooling stations at Bhadla-III, Ramgarh, and Kanpur. Scheduled for completion by Jan. 20, 2029, the project carries an estimated cost of ₹1,035 crore.
The ₹2,286 crore Shongtong project focuses on power evacuation from the Shongtong Karcham (450 MW) and Tidong (150 MW) hydroelectric plants. It involves constructing a 400/220 kV GIS pooling station in Himachal Pradesh alongside 225 kilometers of transmission lines, with a 30-month execution timeline.
