New Delhi: Mr Samrat Bandopadhyay, an Information Services Officer (IIS) from the 2010 batch, has recently received recognition for his outstanding dedication to continuous learning. With a total of 720 courses completed on the Karmayogi Integrated Government Online Training (IGoT) platform, he now holds the record for the most courses completed by any officer or official in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

This award acknowledges his dedication to “Continuous Learning,” resonating with the vision of “Vikshit Bharat” and supporting the motto promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mr. L Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, and Mr. Sanjay Jajoo, I&B Secretary, recognized him for his achievement at an event organized at the ministry recently and gave a certificate. Samrat’s achievement speaks volumes about his dedication to professional growth and aligns seamlessly with the nation’s ongoing mission to foster a learning-centric civil service.

Samrat’s journey is marked by a solid academic foundation and an impressive professional trajectory. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Science and Engineering, later pursuing an MBA from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.

Demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning, Samrat further expanded his qualifications with a law degree (LL.B.) from IIT Kharagpur, where he topped. He is also DG Gold Medalist (Rolling Shield Awardee in Foundation Course of Civil Servants in MCRHRD, Hyderabad—Foundation Training Academy for Civil Services Officers).

Launched as a cornerstone of the Government of India’s vision to create a more efficient and knowledgeable civil service, the Karmayogi IGoT platform offers a variety of courses aimed at upskilling officers across domains.

Shri Bandopadhyay’s achievement of 720 courses is a testament to his tireless pursuit of knowledge, marking a new benchmark for officers across ministries. The Karmayogi platform aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who advocates for “Vikshit Bharat”—a developed India built on the foundations of a skilled, empowered workforce.

Shri Samrat Bandopadhyay’s success showcases the transformative power of Karmayogi IGoT in fostering a progressive civil services environment, inspiring officers to excel and adapt to modern governance challenges.
