Senior IAS officer Gaurav Dwivedi was today appointed the Chief Executive Officer of public broadcaster Prasar Bharati. A 1995-batch officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, Dwivedi will have a five-year tenure. He will take over from Mayank Agarwal, who was officiating after Shashi Sekhar Vempati’s five-year term ended in June this year.
A native of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Dwiedi is a Zoology Honors graduate from Delhi University. Mr. Dwiedi also has a Master’s degree in business administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
It will be Dwiedi’s third inning at the centre. From 2012 to 2017, he was the Director of the MEITY and its NeGD Media Lab Asia unit.Earlier in his career, he served as District Maguistrate of Bilaspur, Korba, and Mahasamund districts, besides a good stint in the Food and Civil Supply Department, cooperatives, and the CM Secretariat in Chhattisgarh..
