NEW DELHI (SG) — The SAMPANN pension management system, developed by the Office of Controller General of Communication Accounts, has integrated with the UMANG platform, enabling about 4 lakh Department of Telecommunications pensioners to access Pension Payment Order (PPO) numbers and Life Certificate (LC) validity status anytime.
The move, announced today, streamlines services through UMANG’s mobile app and web portal (web.umang.gov.in), available on Android, iOS and web. Users authenticate via Aadhaar for seamless retrieval of pension details, boosting transparency under Digital India.
Ashish Joshi, Principal Controller of Communication Accounts (Pr. CCA) in Delhi, said the integration—paired with recent DigiLocker linkage—shifts focus to pensioner-centric governance, cutting the need for office visits.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018, SAMPANN digitizes the full pension lifecycle: processing, e-PPO issuance, payments to bank accounts, status checks, updates and grievances. Toll-free helplines support seniors.
UMANG unifies Central, state and local government services for on-demand access.
