Gurtugram: Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of REC Limited on Tuesday, following his appointment by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
A 2000-batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the Bihar cadre, Srivastava has been appointed to the role in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India, under the Ministry of Power.
Srivastava brings over two decades of distinguished service in various leadership and administrative capacities across the Government of India and the Government of Bihar. Prior to this appointment, he served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, since January 2023.
His previous assignments include key positions such as Secretary in the Home Department and the Public Health Engineering Department in the Government of Bihar. Throughout his career, Srivastava has worked extensively across critical sectors including finance, power, infrastructure, public health, and education.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Honors) from Hansraj College, University of Delhi, and an MBA in Finance from Cochin University of Science and Technology.
REC Limited is a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, specializing in financing projects in India’s power and infrastructure sectors.
