NEW DELHI : In a major push toward digital transformation, the Department of Posts will roll out its next-generation APT application — a part of its IT 2.0 initiative — at select post offices across Delhi on July 21, 2025. The launch is aimed at boosting service efficiency, transparency, and user experience in postal operations.
To ensure a smooth transition, all public-facing services at 37 designated post offices will be temporarily suspended for one day on July 21. The planned downtime is necessary for data migration, system validation, and configuration of the upgraded application, officials said.
“This marks a significant milestone in our journey toward digital excellence and nation-building,” the department said in a statement issued Saturday. “The APT application is tailored to provide faster service delivery and a customer-friendly interface, aligning with our vision for a smarter and more efficient postal system.”
Post offices undergoing the upgrade include: Aliganj, Amar Colony, Andrewsganj, CGO Complex, Dargah Sharif, Defence Colony, District Court Complex Saket, East of Kailash (Phases I & II), Gautam Nagar, Golf Links, Gulmohar Park, Hari Nagar Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Jungpura, Kasturba Nagar, Krishna Market, Lodi Road, Lajpat Nagar, Malviya Nagar, MMTC-STC Colony, Nehru Nagar, ND South Ext-II, Panchsheel Enclave, Pragati Vihar, Pratap Market, Pushp Vihar, Sadiq Nagar, Safdarjung Airport, Saket, Sant Nagar, Sarvodya Enclave, South Malviya Nagar, Sriniwaspuri, and Jeevan Nagar Branch Office.
Customers have been urged to plan their visits accordingly and are assured that the upgrades are being undertaken to deliver faster, smarter, and more digitally empowered services.
“We regret any inconvenience caused during this brief disruption, but these changes are essential to better serve citizens in the long run,” the statement added.
The IT 2.0 initiative is part of a broader modernization effort by India Post to integrate technology into its vast national network, improve accessibility, and support inclusive governance.
