VISAKHAPATNAM — Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar called on global investors to join India’s next phase of economic transformation, highlighting a USD 25 billion opportunity in telecom component manufacturing. Speaking at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, in the presence of Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, he said, India’s progress over the past decade is powered by a profound “Mindset Metamorphosis.”
Dr. Chandra Shekhar said the nation’s rise stems from deliberate policymaking, determined execution, and an empowered entrepreneurial class shaped under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He assured that the Ministry of Communications stands ready to fast-track approvals and support new investments, adding that engaging with India means participating in the world’s largest expanding middle-class market. “India is not just riding the tide; India is the tide,” he said.
He underlined reforms that have repositioned India as a trusted global creator and partner—USD 1.4 trillion infrastructure investments, USD 26 billion PLI schemes, simplified labour laws, the abolition of retrospective taxation, GST-driven national market integration, and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.
Showcasing the host state, he described Andhra Pradesh as one of India’s most promising investment frontiers. He credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for building strong industrial ecosystems and spotlighted the state’s sectoral strengths: Cyberabad for IT, Visakhapatnam for industry and fintech, Anantapur for automobiles, and Tirupati for electronics. He added that AP’s six major ports, industrial land banks, large renewable-energy potential, and facilitative governance model strengthen investor confidence.

With young leaders like Nara Lokesh and T.G. Bharath driving momentum, Dr. Chandra Shekhar said Andhra Pradesh is “not just investment-ready, but investment-hungry,” urging global partners to help shape India’s next decade of growth.
