NEW DELHI: India today outlined its vision for responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence deployment, urging global collaboration to ensure AI remains human-centric, transparent and accessible, as leaders from over 100 countries gathered at the Global AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.

Addressing Heads of Government, innovators and industry leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said artificial intelligence represents a transformational shift in human development and must be guided by ethical governance and public accountability.

India presented its “MANAV” framework for AI governance — focusing on Moral and Ethical Systems, Accountable Governance, National Sovereignty of data, Accessible and Inclusive deployment, and Valid and Legitimate technological systems — positioning AI as a tool for global welfare rather than concentrated technological power.

The Prime Minister also called for open standards, authenticity labelling of AI-generated content and global safeguards against risks such as deepfakes, stressing that AI should evolve as a “Global Common Good” to support innovation, employment generation and inclusive growth.

Officials said India’s expanding digital infrastructure, startup ecosystem and youth-driven tech workforce place it in a strategic position to develop scalable AI solutions for global deployment.
