DUBLIN: The Embassy of India in Dublin and the Indian community in Ireland celebrated Hindi Diwas 2025 with an inclusive, multilingual event featuring speakers from 15 Indian languages recognized in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.

The event reflected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Embassy officials stated that the mission aims to ensure broad participation from linguistic groups within Ireland’s Indian diaspora, utilizing Hindi Diwas, World Hindi Day, and other cultural programs to highlight the richness and diversity of India’s linguistic, cultural, and socio-economic heritage.

Ambassador of India to Ireland, Akhilesh Mishra, praised the Indian community’s support in making the celebration a success. He said the inclusive and participatory nature of the event sent a message not only to the global Indian diaspora but also to people in India.

Mishra noted that India’s global profile as a vibrant democracy is built on 1.4 billion people celebrating each other’s uniqueness, with followers of many faiths and speakers of diverse languages coexisting and enriching one another. In an era of growing polarization, he said, the collaboration across linguistic and cultural groups shown by the Indian community in Ireland is “truly inspirational.”

He reiterated the embassy’s commitment to work with all linguistic groups to showcase and celebrate their unique literary, artistic, and philosophical traditions.
