GURUGRAM: Former President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Manesar studio of internationally acclaimed sculptor Naresh Kumar Kumawat on Monday, commending his contributions to Indian art and cultural heritage.
Kovind, India’s 14th president, viewed a range of Kumawat’s works, including large-scale bronze sculptures of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, and depictions of Indian epics such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata. He also took interest in Kumawat’s newer pieces addressing themes like rural life, social harmony and women’s empowerment.
“I am deeply impressed by the artistic vision and technical brilliance of Naresh Kumar Kumawat,” Kovind said. “His sculptures reflect not only mastery in form but also narrate India’s cultural values and historical legacy.”
Kumawat said the visit was a profound honor. “President Kovind’s presence is humbling and inspiring. His words strengthen my resolve to continue exploring India’s stories through sculpture,” he said.
Kumawat’s work has been exhibited in national institutions and international forums, earning praise for its intricate detail and emotive power.
