NEW DELHI: The Department of Posts (DoP) has partnered with MapmyIndia – Mappls to enhance India’s digital addressing system, DIGIPIN. The collaboration will integrate MapmyIndia’s mapping platform into DIGIPIN applications, making location services more accurate and accessible for citizens and businesses.
The MoU, signed at Dak Bhawan, New Delhi, will see MapmyIndia provide base maps for the Know Your DIGIPIN application, enabling precise DIGIPIN generation and integration into the Mappls app for location search and navigation. Existing addresses in MapmyIndia’s database will also be allocated DIGIPINs, promoting adoption across platforms.

Shri Rakesh Verma, Co-founder and CMD, MapmyIndia, said, “Integrating MapmyIndia’s APIs and SDKs into DIGIPIN applications will empower billions of citizens and businesses, enabling innovative services around DIGIPIN while ensuring seamless access via the Mappls App.”
The collaboration supports the Department of Posts’ Digital Address Code initiative and advances Address as a Service (AaaS) in India, allowing enterprises, government agencies, and developers to incorporate DIGIPIN into their mapping solutions.
