Bihar Minister Raju Singh Assures Resolution in Paru Land Dispute
Paru ( Muzaffarpur) — Bihar’s Tourism Minister Raju Kumar Singh has assured swift corrective action after a controversy surfaced over the mutation of ancestral land in Paru Circle, reportedly carried out based on fabricated reports by local officials.
The dispute concerns land located in Mauza Paru Khas, under Khata No. 2025 and Plot No. 11023, covering approximately 69 and 95 decimals. Government records show the property is in the name of Late Madhulal Prasad Gupta, with his three sons recognized as the lawful heirs. The Register-2 of the government records also justifies it.
Despite this, the Paru Circle Officer approved the mutation in favor of Singh, son of Uday Pratap Singh of Baradaud, Paru, on June 30 last year, based on reports submitted by the Circle Inspector and a revenue official. Documents now under review suggest that the reports may have contained inaccuracies or misrepresentations.
According to sources, Singh, who was reportedly not fully briefed about the land’s actual ownership position at the time of registry in 2019, has assured senior journalist J.P. Gupta — representing the grieving family — that he would take steps to iron out the deficiencies and ensure a fair resolution.
The complainant, a son of Late Madhulal Prasad Gupta, has already written letters to the Muzaffarpur District Magistrate and other authorities, flagging the serious lapse on the part of block officials. However, no action has yet been initiated by the concerned departments, further adding to the family’s grievances.
The family has submitted documentary evidence requesting immediate cancellation of the mutation and legal action against those involved.
