NEW DELHI: The Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, marked Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 with a series of activities promoting cleanliness, hygiene and public awareness among officers and staff.
The observance began with a mass Swachhata pledge and the Swachh Bharat anthem at Shastri Bhawan. Dr. Rajiv Mani, secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, administered the pledge to officials on April 2, reaffirming commitment to a clean and healthy India.
A similar ceremony was held by the Legislative Department, where Mani administered the pledge to senior officers, staff, attached offices and outsourced employees.
Addressing participants, Mani stressed individual and collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness at workplaces and in communities.
A signature campaign encouraged employees and visitors to support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. A selfie booth and a rangoli activity were also organized to boost engagement and awareness.
Officials said the events saw enthusiastic participation, reinforcing the message of collective responsibility toward cleanliness.
