NEW DELHI: Truecaller, the caller ID platform with over 450 million users worldwide, has rolled out an AI-driven upgrade that reveals not just who is calling, but why.
The new feature uses advanced AI models and community feedback to provide real-time context on incoming calls. Users can now see whether a number is linked to scams, delivery services, customer support, or other categories — along with AI-generated summaries of user comments.
“People hesitate to answer unknown calls because they lack context, and in today’s world, context is everything,” said Rishit Jhunjhunwala, global CEO of Truecaller. “We built this to give users clarity the moment the phone rings — turning uncertainty into informed choice.”
The company said its AI identifies billions of signals daily, helping flag fraud faster than traditional telecom systems. In 2024, Truecaller reported blocking more than 56 billion spam and fraud calls worldwide.
By blending AI insights with community-driven reports, Truecaller aims to position itself as a frontline defense against rising phone scams and digital deception.
