New Delhi: The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) hosted the inaugural Industry Dialogue 2025 on Tuesday at the Taj Mahal Hotel, bringing together more than 300 business, government and diplomatic stakeholders to strengthen industrial collaboration between India and Germany.
In his opening remarks, IGCC Director General Jan Noether said nearly 2,000 German firms in India remain eager to expand investments, calling the forum “a great success” for bilateral cooperation. German Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Georg Enzweiler and leaders from Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) and GIZ also emphasized the importance of platforms for addressing challenges and scaling opportunities in trade.
A panel on the Green Economy spotlighted clean technologies, green hydrogen, financing tools, and German-Indian co-innovation as drivers of the energy transition. Siemens Energy India’s Sanghamitra Jayant Biswas stressed rapid scaling of clean tech, while KfW Development Bank’s Stefan Kliesch highlighted Indo-German financial cooperation in renewable energy.
Another panel on Smart Logistics featured executives from Rhenus Logistics, DHL Express India, and Lufthansa Cargo, who underscored the need for standardized infrastructure, data-driven systems, and investment to meet India’s 2030 logistics targets.
In a fireside chat, Federation of European Business in India’s Varda Taneja said the proposed EU-India FTA could remove tariff barriers and unlock new opportunities in green tech, pharmaceuticals, and digital services.
The forum was supported by the German Embassy, GTAI, GIZ, and the Indo-German Energy Forum, with industry partners including EDAG, Phoenix Contact, DHL, BMW, and TÜV SÜD.
